Ticket sales can DOUBLE…when you pick up the phone

Have you yet to fully wake up out of the nightmare that was covid-19?

Well… If your answer is yes, then you are certainly not alone.

The entire world was in lockdown mode…and whenever you did see people out in public, it looked more like a medical convention that had undertaken an oath of silence than anything else. Even post lockdown, the paranoia seemed to stick

face-to-face meetings and events were either still banned or very tightly controlled.

I remember thinking to myself; “Is Friday night with the girls going to have to be a zoom meeting from now on?”, it just didn’t sound right to me. However, with things slowly getting back to the way they used to be, face-to-face meetings as well as events are set to become an active part of our lives again.

Here are some steps you and your company can take to ensure maximum ticket sales to your event:

  • Comb Databases of Planned Events that Were Called Off as a Result of Covid

Well it goes without saying that any business that required in-person interaction to fulfil its’ purpose was greatly hindered by the explosion of Covid and the resulting public protocol. You probably had put together the logistics for an event or two that did not end up happening. While the frustration of a cancelled event and all the resulting costs can be frustrating…

there is some comfort to be taken from the fact that you can use some of the work you did then as a foundation upon which you can build a new event.

Look through the databases of potential attendees you had come up with and see if you can get in touch with them. I mean if the people/ clients were interested in the past, perhaps they will be interested now? Come up with a list of people you can re-engage with and invite them to your next event.

  • Phone Calls Are Best

While telephone calls may be going out of fashion on a personal level,

Phone calls are still very much the bread and butter of the business world

…with regards to events in particular. In fact, research has shown that event management companies without a phone number listed on their google pages are up to 50% less likely to be contacted by clients and have up to a 73% chance of closing down within the first 5 years of opening.

Is that really a risk you’d want to run?

All it would take to prevent it would be putting in place a well-trained and competent team. A team dedicated to handling phone calls and/or following up on leads? It is way better to have the odds in your favour wherever possible.

  • Why A Dedicated Calling Team?

While a part of us might like to believe we can tackle all the world’s problems on our own, let me tell you, it is not possible.

Having a dedicated team in place to deal with all matters relating to calling and contacting leads, can greatly reduce the burden of the workload on you as well as the other people you work closely with. Perhaps that long awaited company dinner can finally happen? Also, a team dedicated to calling is a lot better equipped to deal with high call or lead volumes as they will not be bogged down by other business responsibilities.

It has been shown that up to 70% of first contact with a business is made via phone call.

That’s a lot of potential business lost just because you wanted to do it alone don’t you think?

Conclusion:

Phone calls have been shown to be the most effective way to make initial contact with a potential client in the modern corporate landscape. You want to ensure that your company does not get left in the dark in this post-covid world that we have to re-adapt to. Having a team dedicated to contacting your clients and following up on any interest they’ve shown is crucial for ticket sales and the survival of your business.
